BIG has grown organically over the last two decades from a founder to a family, to a force of 700+. Our latest transformation is the BIG LEAP: Bjarke Ingels Group of Landscape, Engineering, Architecture, Planning and Products. This has brought a plethora of in-house expertise together, offering perspectives that no single designer would see alone.
We are on the lookout for interns for BIG Sustainability- an arm of BIG Engineering- an interdisciplinary team based in the Copenhagen office. The position will focus on informing the design process with climate-based analyses such as direct sunlight, daylighting, outdoor comfort, wind and natural ventilation, etc. You may also be exposed to and participate in Life Cycle Analysis (LCA), energy analysis, design for circularity, design for deconstruction, and other concepts related to sustainability in the built environment.
Please include portfolio material that explicitly showcases your abilities in grasshopper, preferably within the context of performance-based design analysis and implementations. Scripting experience in Python/C# or other programming languages, experience in CFD simulations, knowledge of OpenFoam, and experience with energy modeling are each a big plus but not strictly a requirement.
