You will learn to create load bearing structural models, with all the benefits of a BIM workflow. We will model load bearing walls, beam systems, columns, decks and foundations. You will be introduced to the tools that Revit Structure has. The advantages of working with collaborative models are numerous and this Revit Structure Basic course will give you the skills to get started.

Course content

  • Starting a Revit Structure project
  • Learn the tools & workflow of Autodesk Revit Structure
  • Learn how to create plans, sections, elevations, 3D views, exploded 3D and 2D details
  • Link models from different disciplines and take advantage of these using
  • Learn how to model walls, columns, beams, decks and foundations
  • Learn simple reinforcement modelling with Revit Structure – and Naviate REX
  • Learn how to create drawings and printing
  • Extract information and data from the model
  • Learn how to create and edit structural materials

Expected outcome

After completing this course you will be able to understand the basic functionality of Revit and will be able to create intelligent structural models. You will also learn best practices for: Linking of the architect’s model, setting up views and grids, modelling of load bearing structures, creation of plan drawings, sections and detail drawings.

After the course you will receive an official Autodesk Certificate.

Requirements

This course is for users of Revit who have participated on the Revit Basic course or have a similar level of knowledge of Revit.
